Is there a best time to post on Instagram in Malaysia?

No. Instagram's help centre gives no recommended posting times for Malaysia or anywhere else. Lists of "best times" online are built from other accounts' data, so this page gives no clock times; shakalakaa has not published an aggregated posting-time dataset.
What Instagram does give you is your followers' own activity. Instagram's guide to insights (opens in a new tab) says the Total followers insight includes the times your followers are most active on Instagram, alongside growth, top locations and age range.
How do I see when my followers are online in Instagram Insights?
Open your insights from your profile, then tap Total followers. These steps follow Instagram's help page on viewing insights (opens in a new tab) for the app:
- Tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right.
- Professional account: tap Professional dashboard. Personal account: tap Your dashboard. If you don't see it, tap More to open Settings and activity, then Insights below For professionals.
- Tap Total followers to see trends across your followers.
- Find Times they're most active and note the busiest hours and days.

Does posting time affect Instagram ranking?
Indirectly. Meta lists recency and early engagement among its signals, but no specific hour. In Instagram Ranking Explained (opens in a new tab) (May 2023), Instagram says Feed signals include when a post was shared and how quickly people like, comment, share and save it.
The Meta Transparency Centre's Instagram Feed page (opens in a new tab) (updated 29 June 2026) lists how recently a post was created, within 90 days, as a signal. Instagram's 2023 article adds that popularity signals such as engagement speed matter much more in Explore than in Feed or Stories.
How should I test posting times on Instagram?
Change only the posting time for four weeks, and test Reels, feed posts and Stories separately. Each format is ranked differently, so mixing them hides the effect of time.
