Best Time to Post on TikTok in Malaysia

How to find your own best posting time from TikTok Studio analytics, using only what TikTok itself publishes.

Last updated October 2026
Quick answer

TikTok publishes no single best time to post in Malaysia. Your best time is when your own audience is active. TikTok Studio shows this under Analytics: Most active times in the Viewers tab and activity by hour and day in the Followers tab. shakalakaa suggests posting before those peaks and testing for four weeks.

Is there a best time to post on TikTok in Malaysia?

Last updated: October 2026 · Last checked: 19 October 2026

No. TikTok does not publish a recommended posting time for Malaysia or any other market. The "best times" lists found online come from third-party samples of other people's accounts, not your audience, so this page gives no clock times. shakalakaa has not published an aggregated posting-time dataset either.

What TikTok does provide is your own data. TikTok's Creator Academy (opens in a new tab) explains that analytics show when your viewers were most active in the last 7 days, and when your followers are active by hours and days.

How do I find my best posting time in TikTok Studio?

You find it in TikTok Studio's Analytics, in the Viewers and Followers tabs. These are the steps TikTok's Creator Academy gives for the TikTok app:

  1. Go to your profile and tap the menu bars at the top.
  2. Select TikTok Studio, find Analytics and tap View all. On TikTok Studio Web, use the Analytics tab on the left; in the TikTok Studio app, use the Analytics tab in the bottom bar.
  3. Open the Viewers tab and check Most active times (your viewers' activity over the last 7 days).
  4. Open the Followers tab and check when your followers are active, broken down by hours and days.
  5. Write down your two or three busiest hour blocks and days. Check which time zone the chart uses and convert to Malaysia time (UTC+8) if needed.

How should I test posting times on TikTok?

Test by changing only the posting time for four weeks and comparing like-for-like posts. Keep the format, length and topic type similar, so time is the only thing that changes.

Four-week posting-time test (your own data, Malaysia time)
Week What to do What to record
1 Post at your top active-time block from Analytics Views, average watch time, likes, comments, shares after 24 and 72 hours
2 Post one to two hours before that peak The same metrics, at the same checkpoints
3 Try your second-busiest block or day The same metrics
4 Repeat the best slot so far Whether the result holds

Turn the numbers into engagement rates with the engagement rate calculator so posts with different view counts compare fairly.

What does TikTok say matters more than timing?

TikTok says the For You feed ranks videos on three groups of factors, and posting time is not one of them by name. These come from TikTok's own explanation of how it recommends videos (opens in a new tab) (June 2020):

For You ranking factors, as TikTok describes them
Factor group Examples TikTok gives
User interactions Videos people like or share, accounts they follow, comments they post, content they create
Video information Captions, sounds and hashtags
Device and account settings Language preference, country setting, device type

Is there a set FYP time on TikTok?

No. TikTok does not publish an "FYP time", and the For You feed is personalised for each viewer, so no hour guarantees a place on it.

Searches like "fyp tiktok time" and "waktu fyp tiktok" are really asking when your audience is online. The Analytics steps above answer that for your own account.

Where can I get help with a TikTok posting plan?

Need it done for you? shakalakaa runs TikTok ads, as well as social media marketing for Malaysian brands, if you would rather hand over the testing and the content calendar.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

What is the best time to post on TikTok in Malaysia?

TikTok does not publish one. Check Most active times in the Viewers tab and follower activity in the Followers tab of TikTok Studio Analytics, then post just before your audience's peaks and test for four weeks.

Where do I see when my TikTok followers are online?

In TikTok Studio, open Analytics, then the Followers tab, which breaks follower activity down by hours and days. The Viewers tab also shows Most active times for the last 7 days.

Does posting time affect the For You feed?

TikTok lists user interactions, video information and device or account settings as its ranking factors, not posting time. Timing matters only because posting when your audience is active helps a video collect those interactions early.
