Malaysia Live Host
Rate Index.

What a live selling host actually costs in Malaysia — real bands from public job listings, not a guess.

Collected: July 2026

Quick answer: A full-time live selling host in Malaysia typically earns RM2,500–RM5,000 per month, based on 24 public job listings collected in July 2026. This is third-party job-listing data, not a shakalakaa managed-account figure — sourced, dated and methodology-disclosed below.

No agency in this market publishes what a live host actually costs — every guide talks about hooks and hosting, none shows a rate card. Host rates aren't shakalakaa's data to gate, though: they're publicly posted, in volume, every day, on Malaysian job boards. This page is that data, sampled and dated rather than guessed.

Method — read this before quoting a number from this page

Sampled from public job listings only — no scraping behind a login, no personal data, and no employer names attached to individual rates in what's published here (aggregate bands only; naming a specific employer's posted pay rate invites a complaint and adds nothing a band doesn't already convey). For each observation we recorded: rate, unit, employment type, region, and source platform, then removed duplicate or re-posted listings appearing across multiple searches of the same job board. Minimum sample size before publishing a band as a number: 20 observations. Below that, we say so and print no number — a rate index with a six-listing sample is worse than no rate index at all.

Collected July 2026 from Indeed Malaysia. Listing-volume context from other platforms: Jobstreet listed 326 live-host roles (Jun 2026), Jora 697 (Feb 2026), Glassdoor 490 for "live host tiktok" (Mar 2026) — cited here as market-size context, not as the source of the bands below.

What a live host costs, by employment type

Employment typeTypical bandObserved rangeSample
Full-time (RM/month)RM2,500–5,000RM1,600–9,000n=24

Low/high are the observed range across 24 distinct employer listings, excluding one clear outlier (a single RM20,000/month upper bound on an otherwise-similar posting, likely reflecting a base-plus-high-commission structure rather than a typical base rate). median_low/median_high are the medians of each listing's own low and high bounds.

Part-time / freelance (RM/hour): insufficient sample. We collected 14 observations — below our 20-observation minimum to publish a band as a number. Directionally, posted hourly rates ranged roughly RM15–RM100 across those listings, but we're not printing that as a verified band until the sample clears the threshold. This is the same discipline the rest of this site applies to shakalakaa's own Digital Ad Cost Index — a thin sample doesn't get rounded up to look more confident than it is.

The known bias in this data

Posted rates skew toward employer-side openings and roles that need advertising to fill. Experienced hosts with an existing audience are typically booked through direct relationships or agencies without ever appearing in a public job listing, so they aren't represented in this sample — the same honesty device our KOL rate calculator already applies to its own "illustrative planning bands, not a managed-account benchmark" caveat. Read this index as what employers are willing to post publicly, not as the ceiling of what an in-demand host actually commands.

This is a separate dataset from the shakalakaa Digital Ad Cost Index — that index is first-party managed-account data; this one is third-party job-listing data, and we keep the two apart deliberately so neither is mistaken for the other.
