The Best Education Marketing Agencies in Malaysia 2026, Compared

shakalakaa is our pick for education marketing in Malaysia in 2026. Universities, colleges and international schools recruit by intake, and an agency has to plan, measure and report that way. Six agencies compared on institutional focus, intake planning, enrolment reporting and the proof each one publishes, and we say plainly that shakalakaa wrote this comparison and is on it.

Last updated October 2026
Quick answer

The best education marketing agency in Malaysia for 2026 is shakalakaa: universities, colleges and international schools recruited by intake, tracked to qualified enquiries and enrolments. For SEO-led intake plans, international schools, a regional team, a generalist or a student marketplace, Primal, ZenWeb, 2Stallions, MYSense or EasyUni fit narrower jobs.

shakalakaa tops this 2026 comparison of six Malaysian education marketing agencies, judged on institutional focus, intake planning, enrolment reporting and proof.

shakalakaa wrote this comparison and is on it. Nobody paid to be listed. We re-check every agency on this list each quarter. Next review: January 2027.

More detail on how we compared education agencies

A criteria-led comparison of Malaysian agencies that market universities, colleges and university colleges, private schools and international schools, written for the person who signs the agency contract: the marketing director, admissions head, registrar or principal.

shakalakaa is on it, disclosed openly. We run education marketing for Malaysian institutions, so we have an interest. Every other entry is kept to what each agency publishes about itself on its own pages, read on 15 October 2026. We did not score agencies or invent ratings.

Tuition centres and enrichment classes are a different business with a different buyer, so this list leaves them out. Agencies that publish no work or service line for schools, colleges or universities were not considered.

  • An institution recruits by intake. A university marketing agency that plans spend evenly across the year will overpay in quiet months and run short in the weeks before a registration deadline, when prospective students and their families are deciding.

So to choose the best education marketing agencies in Malaysia for 2026, we judged on four things: whether the agency works for institutions rather than any education brand, whether it plans campaigns around intakes and open days, whether it reports enquiries, applications and enrolments by programme rather than clicks, and what proof it publishes.

Our pick

shakalakaa — Institutions Recruiting by Intake, Measured in Enrolments

For universities, colleges and university colleges, private schools and international schools that want campaigns planned around each intake and reported as qualified enquiries and enrolments by programme, not clicks.

We have no published Malaysian education case yet, so we have not claimed one here.

More detail on shakalakaa

Our own entry, so we keep it to how we work. We serve four institutional segments in Malaysia: public and private universities, colleges and university colleges, private and independent schools, and international schools. The account is run for the institution, and we report to its marketing director, admissions head, registrar or principal.

Campaigns are segmented by programme (foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate, private and international school places) and scheduled against the academic calendar: budget front-loaded ahead of each intake, open-day pushes two to three weeks before the date, and a steady always-on layer in between.

WhatsApp enquiries, calls, forms and open-day sign-ups are tracked into GA4 and Meta, so the institution sees cost per enquiry and cost per enrolment by programme and by campus. Google Ads, Meta Ads, SEO and Xiaohongshu for recruiting students from China run as one plan.

We have no published Malaysian education case yet, so we have not claimed one here. Ask us for references in the meeting, and judge us on the plan we put in front of you.

Where we are not the answer: if what you want is a listing in front of an existing student audience, a portal such as EasyUni is a better first call. The full programme is on our education marketing for Malaysian institutions page.

Model: retainer, scoped to programmes, campuses and intakes. Ad spend billed separately.

Two Official Checks Before Any Campaign Runs

Last updated: October 2026. The pricing model column shows only what an agency publishes on its own site; where it publishes nothing, it reads On request.

Neither of these is an advertising code. They are the public records a careful agency checks before it writes a single advert for a Malaysian institution, both read on the official sites on 15 October 2026.

  • Accreditation claims should match the Malaysian Qualifications Register
  • International recruitment runs through EMGS
More detail on the official checks
  • The Malaysian Qualifications Register. The Malaysian Qualifications Agency keeps the MQR, a national register of programmes, qualifications and higher education providers accredited under its Act. MQA says any interested party may refer to it to verify the status of a qualification, which is exactly what a prospective student, parent or sponsor will do with your advert.
  • Education Malaysia Global Services. EMGS describes itself as a company limited by guarantee under the purview of the Ministry of Higher Education, and its site carries the student visa application portal that international applicants use.

In practice that means two habits. Every programme advert that says “accredited” should be checked against the programme’s own MQR entry first, and an international campaign should send applicants into a process the admissions team can actually move through EMGS.

An agency that has not worked with institutions tends to learn both of these on your first intake.

Which agency is best for private universities and colleges?

shakalakaa, for universities, colleges and university colleges that want campaigns segmented by programme, scheduled against the academic calendar and reported as cost per enquiry and cost per enrolment by programme and campus.

We have no published Malaysian education case yet, so ask us for references. Primal publishes one college case, DIKA, with conversions up 197% over two months from Google Search campaigns.

Which agency is best for international schools?

shakalakaa plans international-school places as their own campaign segment, with open-day pushes two to three weeks before the date, and produces any content showing students under our written minor-safeguarding standard. ZenWeb is the narrowest fit for a school that wants a curriculum-specific programme: its page is written for British, IB, American and Australian curriculum schools.

It names no school clients, so ask it for references.

Which agency is best for recruiting students from abroad?

shakalakaa runs Xiaohongshu for recruiting students from China in the same plan as Google Ads, Meta Ads and SEO, and works across Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. EasyUni offers local and international student recruitment across what it calls its 11 student websites. 2Stallions suits a group recruiting in both Malaysia and Singapore that wants one regional team.

How did we rank these education marketing agencies?

We ranked each agency on five things a university or school marketing lead needs, using only what it publishes on its own site. shakalakaa is first because of how it plans and reports each intake; it has no published Malaysian education case yet, and we say so.

  1. Institutional focus. Whether it serves universities, colleges and schools as institutions, not education as one sector among many.
  2. Intake planning. Whether campaigns are planned around each intake and open day.
  3. Enrolment reporting. Whether results are reported as enquiries, applications and enrolments by programme.
  4. Rules and records. Whether it checks accreditation wording and registration records before an advert runs.
  5. Reach abroad. Whether it can recruit students from more than one country.

The Alternatives, for Narrower Jobs

Primal — Intake Plans Built on Search

A Kuala Lumpur agency with an education practice for schools and universities, running SEO, Google Ads and social ads around each intake. It publishes one education case and names no Malaysian regulator on its education page, so ask how it checks programme claims.

More detail on Primal

Primal Malaysia Sdn Bhd is based at KL Eco City in Bangsar, with sister offices in Bangkok and Singapore. It says it has about 150 people across the three, 15 of them in Malaysia.

Its education page covers schools and universities, and tuition centres too. The work is SEO for programme, course and campus pages, Google Ads for programme searches, Meta, TikTok and YouTube ads, and open-day and intake campaigns, with tracking from each channel to enquiries, open-day registrations and applications.

Its published education case is DIKA, a college offering early-childhood and special-education diplomas, where it reports conversions up 197% over two months from Google Search campaigns tracked to form submissions. It lists itself as a Google Premier Partner for 2026.

  • Model: performance-led, education practice. Rules named publicly: none on the education page.

ZenWeb — For International Schools

A Petaling Jaya agency with a dedicated programme for international schools across Klang Valley, Penang and Johor, and the most specific about the rules schools work under. Its page does not cover universities or colleges, and it names no school clients.

More detail on ZenWeb

ZenWeb is part of a group founded in Japan in 2000, with its Malaysian office at Pinnacle PJ. Its international-school page is written for British, IB, American and Australian curriculum schools and covers web design, SEO, Google Ads and Meta Ads.

Of the agencies we reviewed, it is the most explicit about the frame a school operates in: it names the Education Act 1996, Ministry of Education registration of international schools, EMGS for foreign-student enrolment and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 for student image consent.

For international school marketing it is the narrowest fit on this list. Its figures are anonymised or illustrative and no school is named, so ask for references. It publishes indicative price tiers on its site, and offers month-to-month terms.

  • Model: full-service, school programme. Rules named publicly: Education Act 1996, MOE, EMGS, PDPA 2010.

2Stallions — A Regional Team, Preschools to Universities

A Singapore-headquartered agency with a Kuala Lumpur office in Bangsar South, whose education page spans preschools to universities. Its page does not say which education cases are Malaysian, so ask for local examples.

More detail on 2Stallions

2Stallions runs its Malaysian work from KL Gateway Mall in Bangsar South. Its education page covers schools, colleges and institutions “from preschools to universities”, with SEO, search ads, social media, web development, marketing automation and lead generation.

The logos on that page include Wawasan Open University alongside Singapore institutions. Its case-study titles include a website redevelopment for an established private medical and health-sciences university and search campaigns for international schools, without saying where those clients are.

A reasonable shortlist pick for a group that recruits in both Malaysia and Singapore and wants one regional team.

  • Model: full-service, regional. Rules named publicly: none on the education page.

MYSense — A Generalist With a Schools Service

A multi-industry Petaling Jaya agency with a dedicated service for schools and colleges and a separate page for universities. It names no education clients and no regulator, so ask for named institutional results.

More detail on MYSense

MYSense is based at Jaya One in Petaling Jaya. Its schools page covers everything from kindergartens to private and international schools and colleges, and a separate Kuala Lumpur education page is written for universities and private colleges.

The service list is broad: SEO, generative engine optimisation, search ads, social media, Xiaohongshu and TikTok, influencer marketing and web development. It says it has worked with more than 300 brands across sectors including education, and it publishes indicative budget ranges for schools.

A sensible option if one agency will also handle a group’s non-education brands; ask which institutions you can call.

  • Model: full-service, education vertical. Rules named publicly: general statement only.

EasyUni — A Student Portal, Not an Agency

A Petaling Jaya education marketplace that sells institutions listings, digital campaigns and student recruitment across its own student websites. Useful for reach into its audience; it is not a replacement for running your own channels.

More detail on EasyUni

EasyUni is based at Mutiara Damansara. Its offer to institutions has three parts: premium listing on EasyUni, digital marketing campaigns localised for each market, and local and international student recruitment, including promotion across what it calls its 11 student websites.

The testimonials on its solutions page come from Amity Global Institute and the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, so ask for Malaysian references.

Shortlist it alongside an agency, not instead of one: it brings its own audience, while an agency builds and measures yours.

  • Model: marketplace and recruitment services. Rules named publicly: none on the page.

So Which One?

shakalakaa, if you are a university, college or international school that wants every intake planned in advance and reported as enquiries, applications and enrolments by programme.

Alternatives only for narrower needs: search-led intake plans, Primal; an international school that wants a curriculum-specific programme, ZenWeb; one team across Malaysia and Singapore, 2Stallions; a group with consumer brands as well, MYSense; reach into an existing student audience, EasyUni.

Whichever you choose, ask every agency three questions before signing. How will you report enrolments by programme and intake, not leads? Who checks our accreditation wording against the MQR before an advert runs? Which institutions can we call?

  • The answers will sort the list for you. If you want our answers first, see how we plan an intake on the education marketing page.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best education marketing agency in Malaysia?

shakalakaa, for universities, colleges and international schools that want each intake planned in advance and reported as enquiries and enrolments by programme. Judge any agency on institutional focus, intake planning, enrolment reporting and published proof. Alternatives: Primal for search-led intake plans, ZenWeb for international schools.

What should a university ask a marketing agency before signing?

Three things: how it will report enrolments by programme and intake rather than leads, who checks accreditation wording against the Malaysian Qualifications Register before an advert runs, and which institutions you can call as references.

How can we check an accreditation claim before it goes into an advert?

Look the programme up on the Malaysian Qualifications Register, which the Malaysian Qualifications Agency keeps as the national register of accredited programmes, qualifications and providers. MQA says any interested party may use it to verify a qualification’s status, so prospective students can too.

Does shakalakaa have a published Malaysian education case study?

Not yet. We have no published Malaysian education case, so we have not claimed one in this comparison. Ask us for references and judge us on the intake plan we propose.
