The Best Hospital Marketing Agencies in Malaysia 2026, Medical Tourism Included

shakalakaa is our pick for hospital and healthcare-group marketing in Malaysia in 2026. Six agencies compared for private hospitals, hospital groups and medical tourism programmes: who works inside Medicine Advertisements Board and MMC rules, who can market across source countries, and who measures appointments rather than traffic.

Last updated October 2026
Quick answer

The best hospital marketing agency in Malaysia for 2026 is shakalakaa: hospital-scale search measured in appointments, with Pantai Hospital Malaysia’s direct international appointments from organic search up 3.6 times. For hospital brand work, compliance-led SEO or medical tourism builds, Walk Production, Cleverly MY or ChamRun Digital fit narrower jobs.

shakalakaa tops this 2026 comparison of six Malaysian healthcare marketing agencies for hospitals, hospital groups and medical tourism programmes, judged on the rules, reach, appointments and proof.

shakalakaa wrote this comparison and is on it. Nobody paid to be listed. We re-check every agency on this list each quarter. Next review: January 2027.

Our pick

shakalakaa — Hospital-Scale Search, Measured as Appointments

For private hospitals, hospital groups and regulated diagnostics brands that report to a board on appointments, with creative and content reviewed against Medicine Advertisements Board and MMC rules.

Published proof: non-branded international organic visitors for Pantai Hospital Malaysia up from 5,200 to 17,420 a month, first place on Google in four flagship specialty categories, and direct international appointments from organic search up 3.6 times.

More detail on shakalakaa

Our own entry, so we keep to what our case studies already publish. We work for hospitals and regulated diagnostics brands, and we measure the work the way a hospital board does: in appointments and consultations.

For Pantai Hospital Malaysia we ran cross-border SEO for international patients from Indonesia, Singapore, Indochina, China and the Middle East, built around its International Patient Centre.

The work covered travel-medical keyword mapping by source market, treatment guides reviewed by the hospital’s consultants, hreflang for Bahasa Indonesia, English and Chinese, and GA4 events matched to the centre’s own desk records. The result is the 3.6 times rise in direct international appointments from organic search shown above.

For SuperDNA, a consumer genetic-testing brand, nine months of SEO took non-branded organic visitors from 3,200 to 12,160 a month and organic DNA-kit orders up 3.2 times, with every health-adjacent claim checked before it went into copy.

Where we are not the answer: if the job is a corporate identity, coffee-table book or annual publication before any campaign, a creative studio such as Walk Production is a better first call.

Model: performance / retainer. Rules named publicly: MAB, MMC and Act 586. Pricing: retainer; ad spend billed separately.

How we picked

Last updated: October 2026. The pricing model column shows only what an agency publishes on its own site; where it publishes nothing, it reads On request.

We judged the best hospital marketing agencies in Malaysia for 2026 on four things a hospital marketing lead needs.

  • The rules. Whether the agency works inside Medicine Advertisements Board and MMC rules and says so specifically.
  • Hospital scale. Several specialties, several audiences and, for medical tourism, several source countries.
  • Appointments. Reporting tied to the hospital’s own desk records, not traffic alone.
  • Published proof. Hospital or healthcare-group work the agency shows on its own site.

Running a single clinic rather than a hospital? Our clinic marketing agency comparison is the better read.

More detail on how we compared healthcare agencies

This list is for the person who runs marketing at a private hospital, a hospital group or an international patient centre. That job is different from marketing one clinic: more service lines, a board that asks about appointments, and patients who may be reading from Indonesia or the Middle East rather than Petaling Jaya.

We have placed ourselves first and said why, using only our published case studies. Every other entry keeps to what each agency publishes about itself on pages we opened on 15 October 2026. We did not score agencies, invent ratings or quote competitor prices.

Agencies with no visible hospital or healthcare-group practice were left out, however good their clinic work.

The Rules a Hospital Agency Should Know Cold

Every point below comes from the regulator’s own document, re-read on 15 October 2026.

  • Approval comes first, online included
  • Testimonials and endorsements cover the premises only
  • No before-and-after pictures, comparisons, free services or gifts
  • Doctors are not the product
  • Medical tourism adverts are not exempt
More detail on the rules
  • Approval comes first. The Medicine Advertisements Board treats information about healthcare services spread to attract the public, including on the internet, as an advertisement needing its approval before publication under Section 4B of the Medicines (Advertisement & Sale) Act 1956. Approved adverts carry a KKLIU number.
  • Testimonials and endorsements are narrow. The MAB guidelines for healthcare facilities allow patient testimonials and celebrity endorsements about the premises, such as cleanliness or hospitality, but not about treatment or a practitioner’s skill.
  • No before-and-after pictures (MAB policy decision 2/2019), no direct or implied comparison between facilities, no free services and no gifts. Hospital websites must keep doctor and specialty information informative and simple, without laudatory remarks.
  • Doctors are not the product. The Malaysian Medical Council’s Code of Professional Conduct bars practitioners from advertising to obtain patients, and its 2025 guideline calls claims to be “the best” or “the only one” in a field unethical.
  • Medical tourism is not exempt. Facilities advertising outside Malaysia must follow that country’s rules, and if the advert can also be seen in Malaysia, online for instance, it must conform to the MAB guidelines too.

National promotion of healthcare travel sits with the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council, whose board is chaired by the Minister of Health and which lists more than 80 partner hospitals and clinics. A hospital’s own marketing runs alongside that, not instead of it.

Which agency is best for private hospital groups?

shakalakaa, for private hospitals and hospital groups that report to a board on appointments. For Pantai Hospital Malaysia, non-branded international organic visitors grew from 5,200 to 17,420 a month and direct international appointments from organic search rose 3.6 times.

For a group’s corporate identity, publications or corporate video, Walk Production is built for that work; Cleverly MY names multi-speciality hospitals and large medical groups as a target for medical SEO.

Which agency is best for KKM- and MAB-compliant advertising?

shakalakaa reviews creative and content against Medicine Advertisements Board and MMC rules before they run, and names MAB, MMC and Act 586 publicly. Cleverly MY is more specific than most, naming KKLIU approval numbers, the MMC code on self-advertisement and the Medical Device (Advertising) Regulations 2019. Whoever you hire, ask who submits your adverts to the Medicine Advertisements Board.

Which agency is best for medical tourism?

shakalakaa ran cross-border SEO for Pantai Hospital Malaysia’s International Patient Centre, for patients from Indonesia, Singapore, Indochina, China and the Middle East, with hreflang for Bahasa Indonesia, English and Chinese. ChamRun Digital describes a website focused on international medical tourism in Malaysia and more than nine years of support for CellMalaysia.

Its medical page names no regulator, so ask how its adverts clear MAB.

The Alternatives, for Narrower Jobs

Walk Production — Hospital Brand and Corporate Communications

A Shah Alam creative agency that names private hospital groups and public hospitals seeking communications partners among the buyers it suits. Its strength is brand and publications rather than paid media.

More detail on Walk Production

Walk Production, established in 2018, splits its healthcare work into company level and brand level. For hospital groups and standalone medical centres it offers corporate identity, company profiles, corporate websites, stakeholder publications and corporate video; at brand level, microsites and patient-education content.

Named healthcare work on its page includes a brochure suite for Edwards Lifesciences and a coffee-table book for Medivest on its facilities-management work in Malaysian public hospitals. SuperDNA, also our client, appears there for brand identity and report design.

It cites the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998, Medical Device Authority rules and Medicine Advertisements Board guidance. It does not mention medical tourism.

Model: creative and branding. Rules named publicly: Act 586, MDA, MAB. Pricing signal: not quoted here.

Cleverly MY — Medical SEO, Explicit About the Rules

A Kepong agency whose healthcare page names multi-speciality hospitals and large medical groups as a target, and sets out the MAB, KKLIU and MMC rules more specifically than most. It does not mention medical tourism.

More detail on Cleverly MY

Cleverly MY runs medical SEO, local SEO and Google Business Profile work, healthcare content, Google Ads, websites, social media and AI-search optimisation. It lists multi-speciality hospitals and large medical groups that need to unify their brand alongside specialist, dental, aesthetic and other clinics.

Its page names the Medicines (Advertisement and Sale) Act 1956, KKLIU approval numbers, the MMC code on self-advertisement and the Medical Device (Advertising) Regulations 2019, and it shows a Google Partner badge.

Its published cases are specialist practices rather than hospitals: Avant Orthopaedics, with organic traffic up 80% in six months, and Sozo Wound and Stoma Care. A sensible pick if organic search across many specialties is the brief.

Model: SEO-led, healthcare practice. Rules named publicly: MAB (KKLIU), MMC, MDA. Pricing signal: contact for quote.

ChamRun Digital — Medical Tourism Builds and Software

A Cyberjaya agency that pitches medical clients on reaching the international market and pairs marketing with its own clinic software. Its medical page names no regulator, so ask how adverts clear MAB.

More detail on ChamRun Digital

ChamRun Digital (ChamRun Interactive Sdn Bhd) lists offices in Cyberjaya, Sydney, London and Jakarta. Its medical case-study page describes a website focused on international medical tourism in Malaysia, and says it has supported the stem cell therapy provider CellMalaysia for more than nine years, drawing patients from the international market.

It also builds software: a clinic management system, an online registration app and a mobile app for One Medic, a chain of 24-hour clinics in Melaka.

The page gives no measured outcomes and does not mention MAB, KKLIU or the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council.

Model: digital plus software. Rules named publicly: not stated on its medical page. Pricing signal: contact for quote.

Axcel Digital — Healthcare Only, Paid Media First

A Kuala Lumpur agency that works only in healthcare and lists hospitals among its clients. Its published case studies are clinics, and we found no statement on MAB approval, so ask for hospital references.

More detail on Axcel Digital

From offices in Mont Kiara and Mid Valley City, Axcel Digital runs Google pay-per-click, YouTube, social and TikTok advertising, local SEO and landing pages for hospitals, aesthetic, dental and medical clinics, specialists and allied-health practices.

It says it is trusted by more than 60 healthcare businesses in Malaysia. Its downloadable case studies, among them Sliq Clinic and Klinik Dr Alyna, are clinic work; no hospital is named.

Model: healthcare specialist. Rules named publicly: not stated on its site. Pricing signal: contact for quote.

MYSense — A Generalist That Names Hospitals

A Petaling Jaya agency whose medical marketing page addresses hospitals, clinics and medical brands. Its compliance statement names no regulator and no healthcare client is named, so ask for results first.

More detail on MYSense

MYSense, based at Jaya One, is a multi-industry agency rather than a healthcare specialist. Its medical service covers medical and specialist centres, dental, aesthetic and wellness clinics and pharmaceutical brands, through SEO, search ads, social media, influencer marketing and websites.

It says more than 300 brands across healthcare and other industries trust it. Influencer work for a hospital has to stay inside the MAB endorsement rule, so raise that early.

Model: full-service, healthcare vertical. Rules named publicly: general compliance statement. Pricing signal: contact for quote.

Medical Tourism Needs Its Own Brief

Marketing a hospital to patients abroad is not domestic marketing in another language. The reader compares hospitals across countries, often researches for a long time before travelling, and converts through a tele-consultation or a treatment-estimate request rather than a walk-in.

Ask any agency how it maps searches by source country, who reviews translated medical content, and how it ties enquiries to the international patient desk. Our medical tourism guide for Malaysia sets out the market in more detail.

More detail on medical tourism marketing

Three things separate a medical tourism programme from ordinary hospital marketing. First, each source market searches differently, so keywords should be mapped from local intent, not translated from Malaysian English. Second, the MAB rules still apply to anything visible in Malaysia, which includes almost every hospital website.

Third, the conversion happens at a desk the agency does not run. Unless enquiries are matched to that desk’s records, a report will show visits and leads while the board asks about admissions.

So Which One?

shakalakaa, if you run marketing for a private hospital, hospital group or international patient centre and need appointments you can count, inside the rules, with published numbers behind them.

Alternatives for narrower needs: hospital brand and corporate publications, Walk Production; organic search across many specialties, Cleverly MY; a medical tourism website with clinic software, ChamRun Digital; healthcare-only paid media, Axcel Digital; one agency for healthcare and consumer brands, MYSense.

Before signing with any hospital marketing agency, ask who submits your adverts to the Medicine Advertisements Board, how it reports appointments rather than leads, and which hospital clients you can call.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best hospital marketing agency in Malaysia?

shakalakaa, for hospitals and healthcare groups measured on appointments: its published work for Pantai Hospital Malaysia raised direct international appointments from organic search 3.6 times. Alternatives: Walk Production for hospital brand and publications, and Cleverly MY for compliance-led medical SEO.

What should a hospital or medical marketing agency in Malaysia handle that a clinic agency does not?

Several specialties at once, approval of every advert by the Medicine Advertisements Board, content reviewed by the hospital’s own consultants, and reporting tied to the hospital’s appointment or international patient desk. For medical tourism, add keyword mapping and translation by source country.

Do Malaysian hospital adverts aimed at foreign patients need MAB approval?

They must follow the rules of the country where they run. The MAB guidelines add that if the advert is also available to the public in Malaysia, for example online, it must conform to the Malaysian guidelines as well, so most hospital websites and social posts are covered.

Can a hospital use patient testimonials or influencers in Malaysia?

Only about the premises, such as cleanliness, hospitality or environment. The MAB guidelines do not allow testimonials or celebrity endorsements about treatment or a practitioner’s skill, and before-and-after pictures are ruled out by MAB policy decision 2/2019.
