XHS Business Account & Blue Tick Guide.

Account types, blue tick (Blue V) verification, Aurora ad-platform access and documentation — for Malaysian and Singapore entities.

Last updated October 2026
Quick answer

XHS has three account tiers: personal, professional (专业号) and enterprise with Blue V verification. Only a verified enterprise account can run paid ads on Aurora (聚光), XHS's native ad platform. shakalakaa handles verification for Malaysian brands and companies, where the mostly-Chinese process, not the reported ~600 RMB/year fee, is the real barrier.

The three account tiers

  • Personal account. What anyone gets by signing up — no business features, no ad access, no verified badge.
  • Professional account (专业号). Unlocks basic analytics and a storefront/contact link. Still no access to paid advertising.
  • Enterprise account with Blue V verification (企业号 / 蓝V认证). The full commercial tier — verified badge, access to the Aurora (聚光) ad platform, brand-level analytics, and generally better content distribution for enterprise-tagged posts. Requires a registered business entity to apply.

What Blue V verification actually unlocks

The verified badge itself is a real trust signal on a platform where XHS users are known to research heavily before buying — but the badge is a side effect, not the main unlock.

The functional gate is Aurora (聚光), XHS's native ad platform: Xiaohongshu's own rules may restrict it to Blue V-verified enterprise accounts, so most brands clear verification before planning paid XHS ads. Unverified accounts are limited to organic content and, where available, creator/KOL seeding through the platform's collaboration tools — not the same reach mechanism as paid Aurora placement.

Documentation and process, for a Malaysian entity

Verification requires a registered business document (the equivalent of a business licence) matching the account name being verified — the most commonly cited requirement across independent sources describing the process. Login steps are in our XHS web login guide.

Malaysian entities are eligible to apply. The practical barrier is less the paperwork itself and more that the entire application and review process is conducted largely in Chinese, with limited English-language support — budget for either an in-house Chinese speaker or an agency partner to manage the application, not just the fee itself.

What we can't confirm from here

Gap, disclosed rather than guessed: XHS's own official account platforms (pro.xiaohongshu.com, business.xiaohongshu.com) were checked directly, but both load as JavaScript-driven applications whose pricing details cannot be read from outside a logged-in account — not a "couldn't find it" case, but a "found the real page, couldn't read it" case.

The commonly reported verification fee of ~600 RMB/year (~RM400) and a 2–4 week processing timeline are corroborated across several independent Chinese-language sources describing the process (not just one competitor's page), but remain unconfirmed against XHS's own official pricing page — treat as a reported estimate, not a guaranteed figure, until verified directly against XHS's account panel or official support channel.

We will update this page as soon as the figure is confirmed.

What to do about it, in order

  1. Confirm your business registration name (SSM in Malaysia, ACRA in Singapore) matches the brand name you're verifying — this is the single most common cause of rejection.
  2. Gather trademark documentation now if your category carries impersonation risk (beauty, fashion, pharmaceutical-adjacent).
  3. Budget 2–4 weeks end to end from engagement, of which platform review by Xiaohongshu itself is 5–10 business days — and don't schedule a campaign launch against day one of submission.
  4. If Mandarin-language correspondence is a blocker, use a verification service rather than risking a rejected or stalled application. Not sure if you qualify? Run the free XHS Verification Eligibility Checker first.

Once verified: what comes next

A newly-verified enterprise account with zero content history has a real commercial ceiling regardless of verification status — the account still needs a genuine notes production discipline before Aurora ad spend is worth committing. See the XHS content creation service for the production layer, or XHS verification if you want the application itself handled for you.

For clinic brands specifically, KKM/MDC compliance applies to XHS content exactly as it does on every other platform — see the clinic advertising compliance hub.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a personal, professional and enterprise XHS account?

A personal account is what anyone signs up with — no business features. A professional account (专业号) unlocks basic analytics and a storefront link. An enterprise (企业号) account with Blue V verification (蓝V认证) unlocks the fuller commercial toolset — verified badge and brand-level analytics, with Aurora ad access subject to Xiaohongshu's own rules — and requires a registered business entity.

What does Blue V verification actually unlock?

A verified badge next to the account name, brand-level analytics, and generally higher content distribution priority for enterprise-tagged content; Xiaohongshu's own rules may also restrict Aurora (聚光) ad access to verified accounts. Without it, an account can still post but cannot display the verified badge.

Can a Malaysian business get XHS Blue V verification?

Yes — Malaysian entities can apply, but the documentation requirement is real: a registered business licence/entity document, and the process is conducted largely in Chinese. This is the single biggest practical barrier for Malaysian brands, more than the fee itself.
