Malaysia Mega Sale Calendar: When to Start Live Selling Before Each Date

The date itself matters less than the lead time — sellers who start ramping session frequency and content weeks ahead consistently outperform those who only go live the week of the sale. Here is every upcoming date and the prep window that actually moves the numbers.

Quick answer: Next mega-sale dates in Malaysia: 9.9 (9 September 2026), 10.10 (10 October 2026), 11.11 (11 November 2026, the largest), 12.12 (12 December 2026), Chinese New Year (6 February 2027) and Hari Raya Aidilfitri (expected around 10 March 2027, pending official moon-sighting confirmation). Start ramping live session cadence 2–3 weeks before each date, not the week of.

Chinese New Year 2026 (17 February) and Hari Raya 2026 (21 March) have already passed as of this page's last update — the dates above are the next occurrence of each. This table is refreshed annually; if you're reading this well after mid-2027, check for a newer version.

Why the double-date sales don't need an "official announcement"

9.9, 10.10, 11.11 and 12.12 are calendar-fixed by convention — the date is always the matching day-and-month pair, every year, regardless of platform announcement. What platforms do announce closer to each date is the specific voucher stacking, flash-sale windows and category promotions — those details are worth checking in your own Seller Centre a week or two out, but the date itself is never in doubt.

Why Chinese New Year and Hari Raya are different

Chinese New Year follows the Chinese lunisolar calendar, which can be calculated years in advance with certainty — 6 February 2027 is fixed, not an estimate. Hari Raya Aidilfitri follows the Islamic lunar calendar, and Malaysia's official date is only confirmed through moon-sighting (rukyah) activities overseen by the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal, typically announced days before the date itself. The ~10 March 2027 figure above is a calculation-based expectation, not an official date — treat any Raya-dependent planning as provisional until the official announcement, and don't lock non-refundable host or venue bookings against it this far out.

Why lead time matters more than the date

Shopee's own 2025 11.11 figures — 6× order growth via Shopee Live for sellers working with affiliate creators, and up to 26× when combining Shopee Live and Shopee Video — describe sellers who had already built session cadence and creator relationships well before the date, not sellers who started the week of. A mega-sale session performs on top of an audience and algorithmic trust built over the preceding weeks; a cold account's first-ever session landing on 11.11 itself is starting from zero exactly when competition for viewer attention is highest.

What "prepping" actually means in that window

Three things, in order: increase session frequency to whatever cadence you can sustain (the platform algorithm rewards consistency, not just volume — see our diagnostic on low-viewer sessions for why this matters), lock in host and creator availability early since mega-sale dates are the highest-demand booking window of the year, and build the actual run-of-show and voucher sequencing in advance rather than improvising it live. Build the run-of-show with the live session planner, and price host/creator time with the KOL rate calculator before availability disappears.

Is a mega-sale session actually worth running?

Not automatically — mega-sale sessions also carry compressed margins (heavier discounting), higher competition for the same viewer pool, and often higher paid-amplification costs than a quiet-week session. Run the numbers through the live commerce ROI calculator with your actual expected discount depth and platform take rate before committing host and production budget to a specific date — a well-run session the week before a mega-sale sometimes nets better contribution margin than a crowded session on the day itself. Mega-sale planning is one piece of the wider calendar we run across our e-commerce marketing programme, alongside paid social and marketplace listing timing.
