The problem

The problem

Before the programme the shop was selling about RM 120,000 a month. Paid media returned RM 1.70 for every RM 1.00 spent, each unit acquired through ads cost RM 32.50, 110 creators were promoting the product, and live sessions converted 5.1% of viewers into buyers.

What we did

  • Bundles and listings. Product pages rebuilt around bundles — the vacuum with a mop pad and a spare HEPA filter — plus entry bundles with accessory add-ons, and product cards that state suction power, cordless use and the washable HEPA filter plainly.
  • GMV Max and Spark Ads. 75% of the paid budget moved to GMV Max campaigns aimed at Malaysian households and car owners, with the best creator reviews — real dirt pickup and water suction tests — run as Spark Ads to warm up buyers.
  • Problem-solution hooks. Twenty or more video hooks built on everyday home problems, tested and pruned continuously, alongside a simpler one-click checkout path.
  • A sample-seeding creator programme. 1,500+ product samples sent to home, cleaning and family creators, with tiered commission and monthly prizes for top sellers. The affiliate program grew from 110 to 3,400+ active affiliates publishing 900+ videos a month.
  • A live demo studio. A custom set with carpet, tile and hardwood floors for live vacuuming and mopping tests — coffee grounds, hair, water — run six days a week with scripted hosts and three-minute flash vouchers released at viewer peaks.
  • Mega-sale runs. TikTok Shop payday and double-digit campaign deals coordinated with a dedicated live schedule.

Results (january–august 2026)

  • Sources: TikTok Shop Seller Center Malaysia (GMV), TikTok Ads Manager (return on ad spend, cost per unit), TikTok Shop Affiliate Center (affiliates, affiliate share of sales) and the TikTok Shop LIVE dashboard (live conversion); units from Seller Center order records, counting appliances plus accessories and add-ons.
  • Cost per unit is the client's TikTok media cost divided by units acquired through ads; it is not shakalakaa's fee, which we do not publish.

What this means for your home appliance brand

Every RM 1.00 of ad spend now returns RM 4.80 instead of RM 1.70, each unit acquired through ads costs about half as much, and just over half of all sales come from creators rather than ads.

  • What this says about shakalakaa: for a product people need to see working, we run TikTok ads, creator seeding and live demos as one plan and measure it in shop GMV.
