Who can sell on TikTok Shop Malaysia?
Last updated: October 2026. Last checked: 19 October 2026 against TikTok Shop Academy Malaysia. There are two seller types, and both must register before listing products (TikTok Shop Seller Registration Guidelines (opens in a new tab)).
| Individual seller | Corporate seller | |
|---|---|---|
| Who qualifies | Malaysian citizens aged 18 or over | Businesses or companies registered in Malaysia |
| Documents | Government-issued ID | Full pages of business licences and company registration, plus the legal representative's ID |
| Bank account | Name must match the ID | Business account in the company's registered name |
| Limits | May be restricted from selling some brands | Up to five seller accounts per verified business |
Applicants under investigation or enforcement by a trade or consumer protection authority, including for multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes, cannot register. To sell a restricted brand, register as a corporate seller and submit brand authorisation.
How do you register a TikTok Shop seller account?
- Sign up at seller-my.tiktok.com and choose individual or corporate seller.
- Upload your documents: clear, colour, uncropped PNG or JPG files, with both sides of an ID card where details are on the back.
- Fill in your seller profile with your full address and postcode.
- Add your bank account with a copy of the first page of a bank statement; the name must match your ID or company documents.
- Choose a shop name of up to 40 characters that represents your business.
- Wait for review; TikTok Shop may ask for extra documents or a short identity video.
- Once approved, list your products.
Shop names may use "Official" only if the brand owner has authorised you, and "Flagship" and "Authorized" are not allowed (TikTok Shop corporate registration process (opens in a new tab)). Keep documents up to date: TikTok Shop reviews accounts again when details change.
What fees does TikTok Shop Malaysia charge sellers?

Commission = (item price − seller discount) × fee rate. In TikTok Shop's own worked example, a 3.78% transaction fee and an RM0.50 platform support fee are added.

How do you get your first sales on TikTok Shop?
Most new shops grow through creators and LIVE, not ads alone. TikTok Shop Academy says many first-time sellers start with Open Collaboration, letting any creator promote their products for a commission (TikTok Shop Academy (opens in a new tab)). Our TikTok Shop affiliate guide explains how it works.
Before you pay or seed samples to a creator, check their engagement with our free engagement rate calculator.
