Why nobody publishes a GEO rate card — including, honestly, us
GEO is genuinely newer as a standalone line item than SEO, PPC or social media management, and unlike those services, the actual scope of GEO work varies enormously by how SEO-mature a site already is. A site with existing schema markup, a clean entity structure and decent technical SEO needs comparatively little additional GEO work — mostly llms.txt, targeted schema extensions and citation building. A site starting from zero needs the underlying technical SEO foundation built first, which GEO depends on rather than replaces. That variance is the real reason a flat GEO number is hard to publish honestly, not an excuse to avoid the question.
The real structure: GEO is a layer, not a separate product
We don't sell GEO as a standalone package. It's scoped as a layer on top of our existing SEO retainer, which is published in our pricing guide at RM2,000–8,000/month depending on site complexity and competitiveness of the category. GEO work — entity/schema architecture, llms.txt, AI-crawler-facing content structure, citation building, AI-visibility measurement — is added scope within that same retainer conversation, not a second invoice running in parallel. Current published rates for the full service catalogue live at fees.shakalakaa.com.
What actually drives the number up or down within that band
| Factor | Pushes toward the lower end | Pushes toward the upper end |
|---|---|---|
| Existing schema/technical SEO | Already has Organization/Service/FAQ schema in place | No schema at all — needs building from scratch first |
| Site size | Small catalogue, few core pages | Large multi-service, multi-location site |
| Category competitiveness | Low-competition niche | Regulated or highly contested category (healthcare, finance) |
| Measurement scope | Occasional AI-visibility spot checks | Ongoing prompt-battery tracking and reporting |
What you get for that spend
Within the retainer, GEO-specific work covers: entity and schema architecture so AI crawlers can parse who you are and what you offer, an llms.txt file (see our free llms.txt generator if you want to see the mechanics yourself first), answer-structure discipline in on-site content (the specific thing GEO changes operationally — see our GEO vs SEO breakdown for exactly what that means), citation-building for AI-crawler discovery, and AI-visibility measurement to track whether the work is actually showing up in ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews answers — check your own current visibility free with the AI visibility checker.
The honest caveat: "does GEO work" is still being measured, not claimed
We don't yet publish a "does GEO work, what we measured" report with real before/after visibility data — that requires running our own AI-visibility harness across a real prompt battery first, which as of this page has not yet happened for a full cycle. Until it has, don't take a "GEO works" claim from any agency, including this one, as verified — treat it as a reasonable operational bet backed by how AI answer engines are documented to source citations, not as a proven ROI number yet.
Where to start
If your site has little to no schema or entity structure today, that foundational SEO work needs to happen before GEO-specific work adds much — see the SEO service page for that base layer. If the foundation already exists, GEO scoping is a conversation about which of the above pieces are missing, not a separate sales process — see our GEO service page for the full scope of what that layer covers, or book a consultation for a scoped figure rather than guessing from this band alone.
