The problem
A listed group with board-level ESG governance publishes sustainability material that is simultaneously a regulatory disclosure, an investor document and a brand asset. Every claim on the page has to survive being read by the ESG department, the corporate-communications team and an index assessor. The constraint on this class of work is not creative — it is verifiability and approval-chain tolerance. The communications brief is to produce material a listed group can defend on the record, in front of three different audiences, without a walk-back.
What we did
Scope shakalakaa delivered:
- Copywriting for the group's sustainability communications material.
- Corporate page building and design across the sustainability section.
- Video and photography production for the sustainability campaign.
The programme itself — separately from shakalakaa's scope, cited to UEM Edgenta's own published record on uemedgenta.com/sustainability — is structured on three pillars (Sustainable Economic Growth, Minimising Environmental Impact, Social Value Creation) with Governance as the overarching pillar, under the group's Sustainability Roadmap 2.0. The programme prioritises UN Sustainable Development Goals 8, 9 and 13, and its net-zero aspiration is aligned to Malaysia's 2050 carbon-neutrality plan. Published recognitions include The Star ESG Positive Impact Awards 2024 — Gold for Energy Efficiency and Gold for Waste Management.
